I’ve been waiting for a chance to go on a Sakinah Retreat for so long, and now that I finally have, it was far beyond my expectations. Everything felt so intentional and in every thing we did, we did it with the remembrance of Allah. It’s a completely different way of travelling and it’s changed my perspective of exploring Allahs creation. I will cherish the memory of my Sakinah Retreat in Bosnia and Herzegovina forever, and I really hope Allah invites me to more retreats with Sakinah. How was my trip with Sakinah Retreats...? Honestly… I didn't expect this trip to impact me the way it did. The way everything was organised with so much care, respect, and sincerity made me feel safe, seen and looked after in every moment. The humbleness we were shown everywhere we went... from having tea with the Imam and being able to ask our questions, to the honour of accessing the private entrance to the Maqam of Imam Al-Husayn... these are memories I will carry with me for a long time. And receiving the Quran as a gift from the madrasa… that was something truly emotional for me. It felt like a gentle blessing placed right into my hands. This retreat wasn't just travel for me... it grounded me in a way I really needed. I came back feeling lighter, calmer and full of quiet barakah. Thank you for creating a space where women like me can experience something so meaningful and spiritually uplifting. I'm truly grateful.

My Sakinah Retreat to Lombok was truly an unforgettable experience and one that will always hold such a special place in my heart. 🤍 From the breathtaking beauty and peaceful surroundings of Lombok to the meaningful moments of reflection, connection and sisterhood, every part of this retreat felt so beautifully put together. It gave me the opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life, reconnect with myself, strengthen my connection with Allah, and simply be present. One of the greatest blessings was the beautiful women Allah placed on this journey with me. We arrived as individuals, but left with genuine friendships, shared memories, laughter, deep conversations and a bond that I pray continues long after the retreat. There were so many moments that touched my heart and reminded me of the importance of gratitude, faith, self-reflection and surrounding yourself with people who uplift your soul. Where do I even start? Beginning each day with Fajr, Morning Azkar, and Dhikr at sunrise whether along the calm shore or surrounded by mountain peaks was a deeply moving spiritual experience. Everything was organised with exceptional care, from the overall itinerary to the guided tours, allowing every transition to feel smooth and effortless. We experienced the very best of Lombok, from unwinding by the serene beaches of Senggigi and floating in the crystal-clear blue waters of the Gili Islands to venturing into the breathtaking mountains, enjoying sunrise yoga with magnificent views, and connecting deeply with the local Sasak culture. So many cherished memories stand out: picking fresh strawberries in the highlands, hiking through lush valleys alongside refreshing waterfalls, and hearing the Adhan and Tilawat-e-Quran echo beautifully across the mountains of East Lombok. Preparing local recipes together in a cooking class, sharing delicious meals, and visiting the local mosque and Madrasa where the sweet children welcomed us with open hearts (SubhanAllah) made this journey truly unforgettable. From the coastline to the highlands and every gathering in between, it was a trip filled with peace, natural beauty, and uplifting sisterhood. I left feeling grounded, refreshed, and full of barakah. Truly a lifetime memory that I highly recommend to anyone seeking travel with purpose and peace! 🤍✨
